How to Apply

Nonexempt Staff Positions

A UMBC application is required for all nonexempt staff positions.  You may attach a cover letter and resume to the application form as a supplement.  Complete all sections of the application form, even if you attach a copy of a resume. A separate application form must be submitted for each position for which you are applying.  Photo copies of the application may be submitted. Please indicate the Job # and the title of the position on the application. Please view our information on helpful tips on completing the application and information on the application process.

Exempt Staff Positions

Exempt staff positions require a  cover letter and resume to be submitted directly to the hiring department. Check the job posting for specific requirements and instructions for applying.  Please view our helpful tips and information on applying for an exempt staff position at UMBC.


Faculty Positions

Faculty positions including part-time instructor and regular faculty should submit application materials directly to the hiring department.  Please follow instructions for applying on the job advertisement.

Applications and resumes are accepted only at the time a vacancy exists; please do not submit applications or resumes for positions which are not posted or advertised.

As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
