First Generation Network Student Engagement Committee Development
Project Team Members: Carlos Williams, Antoinette Newsome, Jen Spencer Heilman, Delana Gregg, Kim Casimbon, Michael Hunt, Peter DeCrescenzo, Susan Hindle, Chrisi Giannakaris, and Corris Davis.
The First Generation Workgroup was formed to create a structure and system of programs to support UMBC’s First Gen students. The work of the workshop resulted in UMBC being recognized as a First Gen Forward institution by NASPA’s First Generation Success Center and as participants in the 3rd cohort of the First Scholars Program. From the work of the First Gen Workgroup we have formed a First Gen Steering Committee to plan future programming for First-Gen Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni.
