We are pleased to announce the journey to launch an updated Alternate Work Arrangement program. UMBC’s Alternate Work Arrangement Program, AWA, is designed to support our evolving work needs while maintaining a commitment to collaboration, service, and academic excellence.
The journey to this redesigned program provides clearer guidance and streamlined processes for employees and supervisors participating in an alternate work arrangement.
Completed Phase 1: Employee Home Address Campaign
Using MyWorkView in PeopleSoft HR, the home address for all employees verified or updated.
Completed Phase 2: Campus Socialization
Policy and procedure feedback from campus leaders, shared governance groups, and stakeholders.
In Progress Phase 3: Policy Revision
Complete updates to UMBC Policy for the campus policy revisions process.
Completed Phase 4: Alternate Work Arrangement Procedures
Procedures and request process for the AWA program, including approvals and offerings by Division updated.
In Progress Phase 5: Campus Training
Join HRSTM to learn more about the updated Alternate Work Arrangement Program in this required training for those eligible and who will be participating in the new program beginning in May 2026.
Coming Soon! Phase 6: Alternate Work Arrangement Request Relaunch
Beginning late May 2026, all staff who are eligible and will be participating in the new Alternate Work Arrangement Program will submit new AWA requests in MyWorkView in PeopleSoft HR. An announcement will be made on the MyUMBC HRSTM Page!
